When YouTube was launched, it wasn’t thought to be one of the trendiest web sites in few years time. It would have been impossible unless thousands and thousands of singers, politicians, film makers, activists… had used the platform to share their creations, complaints, demands and ideas.

Little by little, YouTube’s become a very powerful weapon: anyone (equipped with an Internet connection and a camera) can watch and create videos all around the world. Nevertheless, images can e manipulated easily or can be “unsuitable” for some culture. For that reason, it’s forbidden in China and has been banned for a while in morocco, Turkey or Iran.

What we can’t deny is that YouTube’s turned into an alternative for those who want to be aware of other realities that the Media ignore. The latest example is the Arab spring’s protests. Like a Spanish idiom says: “ a picture is worth a thousand words”.
